Boppy Twins

We received two boppy pillows from the Neckers and the kids took to them quickly. They work well for when we are done feeding them to keep them a little upright preventing spit ups and so forth. Ian is on the right and on the left is...wait, it was Emma. Where's Emma? Ali, have you seen Emma? ALI!

Genetics

Since the children were born we have been trying to figure out who the kids look like. They have ears like so and so and noses like he or she, and blah blah blah. We dont have a milk man or a mail man that comes by the house so we can pretty much rule those out. Ali mentioned an old picture that she saw of my mom holding my sister when she was a baby and thought that Emma may resemble this picture. If you can get past the bee hive hairdo and actually take a look at my sister in the picture, it does look a lot like Emma. We will have to take a picture of Ali holding Emma like this to see how much they look alike. Sorry, Ali's hair is too thin to tease into a bee hive so the picture wont bee an exact replica.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving was spent at the Tucker residence this year in Bluffton with Grandpa Bob and Grandma Paula and we all worked hard slaving in the kitchen over the fabulous meal freshly prepared from Fresh Market. It was good though. We also took some pictures and you can see how sweet Ian was being by leaning over to give his little sister by 25 second a smooch on the cheek. The gowns they are wearing were given to them and hand smocked by Nanny Grace (our saving Grace) and towards the end of the pictures the boys (me and Grandpa Bob) wanted to get him out of his new dress. Just kidding Grace, they were done so beautifully and eloquently and we really appreciate you taking the time to make these for them. We cant wait for you to come and enjoy them with us too! Just look at him, isn't he so sweet. Just you wait Emma it won't be long before you can't get him to stop pulling your hair so enjoy it while you can.

Babies' Day Out

Yesterday was quite an eventful day for us chiren. After keeping daddy up allllll night until 6 am only to fall asleep just for mommy at shift change, we had our first doctor appointment. That was pretty cool aside from that darn rectal probing thermometer we are not used to and really didn't care for. We still like it under the armpit thank you very much. Then our servants took us for our first walk around our community and we had our first neighbor encounter along the way. We sure could get used to this royal treatment.

Okay Emma you can have daddy's credit card, what ever you would like!

First Clemson Game

Sorry for the delay updating the post it has been a little chaotic getting used to the new feeding and sleeping schedule (or the lack there of). Here are some pictures we took as the game was beginning when they were still excited to watch Clemson play before the disappointing outcome of the game against BC. There will be many more to follow I am sure. There seats at the stadium had already been given out for the game so they had to settle for listening to it from the pack-n-play.
GO TIGERS!

"High Five Emma!"

Ian and Emma...Its whats for dinner!

Babies, the other white meat. Of course once we brought the new strangers home, we had 4 sets of curious eyes peeping under the nursery door. So under close supervision we allowed the elder children to come and inspect the grunting and cooing intruders. As you can see from the pitcures below they were very curious of the noises and movements, however none of them tried to jump in. They mainly sat there and just stared at them like we did in the NICU all the time. I always told Ali that it was like going to the zoo and sitting at the chimpanzee or gorilla cages; they never really did anything exciting at all but you just couldn't take your eyes off of them out of fascination. Sheba came the closest as she tried to scale the edge of the crib but then she quickly returned to the dresser to stare and contemplate how she was going to get that rather large dinner into her little mouth.

The babies are coming! The babies are coming!

Free at last Free at last; thank God almighty we're free at last! To our surprise when we arrived at the NICU yesterday around noon the nurse practitioner told us "the babies are going home tomorrow are you ready?" Uhh no! We fed the babies and then left frantically running around town clearing up odds and ends and getting a few last things that were necessary for us to bring them home.

We showed up this morning at around 1030 to a fussy Ian who lost half of his manhood last night to a drive-by circumcision and a very content Emma. I guess she figured she was one up on him at this point. We fed them and filled out all the appropriate discharge paperwork. Then daddy had to quickly run around downtown Savannah to find a styrofoam cooler and ice to take home mommy's dairy farm she was storing in the NICU freezer. And finally, the nurses actually turned them over to us. Hope you enjoy the tribute!

Rock-a-bye-babies...

Ali's mom, Bette, came to town for the day to see the babies for the first time and cried her eyes out when she saw the precious little parasites (we stole that term from the James'). Bette sat there for hours just a rockin' away and the kids loved it. They slept most of the time only to wake up occasionally when it was time to eat. We just can't wait until we get the chance to take 'em home with us (when we are lacking sleep in about a month ask us again how we feel about that)!

We Salute You!

We, Ian and Emma, would like to thank everyone for their support along the way and for all the special gifts that we have received from you all. We are both doing very well and progressing rapidly. We weigh 5 lbs. 2 ozs. and 4 lbs. 1 oz. respectively and counting just as fast as we can finish our bottles. As you saw, our trip to Clemson went well and we are deciding which career paths we would like to follow. Dont worry everyone we are doing well and will be heading to our new home soon and again we salute you for everything you have done for us. Cheers!

Salute From Ian

C-L-E-M-S-O...N! Go Tigers!

Well the children just got back from their first Clemson campus tour to pick out their majors and what sports they would like to play since the are predestined to attend. They learned how to spell Clemson as well (without the 'O' of course), if you notice their right arms are in sync during the practice of the fight song. You Clemson fanatics out their already noticed this without me pointing it out though I am sure. And just to let you know, we didnt even have to put their arms in this position. As soon as we put them together their right arms immediately went up to start the cheer rally! They know when a game is approaching already. GO TIGERS!
