Free at last Free at last; thank God almighty we're free at last! To our surprise when we arrived at the NICU yesterday around noon the nurse practitioner told us "the babies are going home tomorrow are you ready?" Uhh no! We fed the babies and then left frantically running around town clearing up odds and ends and getting a few last things that were necessary for us to bring them home.
We showed up this morning at around 1030 to a fussy Ian who lost half of his manhood last night to a drive-by circumcision and a very content Emma. I guess she figured she was one up on him at this point. We fed them and filled out all the appropriate discharge paperwork. Then daddy had to quickly run around downtown Savannah to find a styrofoam cooler and ice to take home mommy's dairy farm she was storing in the NICU freezer. And finally, the nurses actually turned them over to us. Hope you enjoy the tribute!
